WAYS TO CONTROL THESE SYMPTOMS
- Keep weight near the ideal body weight
- Avoid fatty foods, fried foods, greasy foods, excessive amounts of alcohol, caffeine, peppermint, spearmint, and chocolates.
- Avoiding eating and drinking several hours prior to going to bed.
- Elevate the head of the bed elevation on approximately four to six-inch blocks.
- Use antacids (mylanta, maalox, and others) intermittently as needed to treat episodes of heartburn.
